Truck & Lorry Tarpaulin

Truck and lorry tarpaulin made to your vehicle size by New Vision Tarpaulin, Delhi. Load covers built for repeated tying, dragging and folding, with reinforced hems and correct eyelet spacing.

A truck cover has a harder life than almost any other tarpaulin. It is thrown over a load, dragged across a steel bed, tied down hard, untied in the dark and folded wet. Most covers that fail in transport do not fail because the material was not waterproof. They fail because they were never built for that handling.

Truck tarps, lorry tarpaulin and load covers are the same product under different names, and construction tarps for site use are built the same way.

Standard sizes rarely fit a real truck bed

This is the point we make most often. A cover bought off the shelf is either short, which lets rain and road spray in at the edge, or so oversized that the excess flaps at speed and tears itself at the eyelets. We cut and finish to your measurement, so the sheet reaches where it needs to and no further.

Tell us the bed dimensions and the height of a typical load and we will work out the finished size, including the drop down each side and the overlap at the tail.

What a transport cover needs

  • Reinforced hems. The hem takes the entire tie-down load. A rope-reinforced hem spreads it along the edge instead of letting it concentrate at one point.
  • Correct eyelet spacing. Too few eyelets and the sheet balloons between tie points at speed. We set them at the spacing the load needs, not a fixed default.
  • Tolerance for folding. A transport cover is folded and unfolded constantly. It has to take repeated creasing without splitting along the fold lines.
  • Visibility, where it helps. Shaktiman is supplied in high-visibility yellow and blue, which makes a cover easier to account for at the end of a shift and less likely to be driven over or left behind.

Which sheet suits which job

For single-trip or seasonal load cover, plastic tirpal is cheap enough to treat as a consumable. For a cover that goes out every day, the multi-layer laminated grades on our tarpaulin sheets page are built for the handling. Where a load must not sweat in transit — grain, produce, anything loaded damp — canvas is the correct choice even though it is heavier.

Our checklist on protecting cargo in transit goes through what usually goes wrong between loading and delivery.

Ordering

Covers are made to order at our Delhi facility and dispatched across India. Fleet quantities are quoted on a slab basis, and repeat supply for a fleet is quoted separately from a one-off cover. See how the rate is calculated before asking for a quote.
